Graduate Portfolio Programs

Graduate Portfolio Programs are opportunities for all graduate students to obtain credentials in a cross-disciplinary academic area of inquiry, e.g., gerontology, women’s and gender studies or disability studies, while they are completing the requirements for a master's or doctor's degree in a particular discipline.

A portfolio program usually consists of four thematically related graduate courses and a scholarly paper or research presentation. For master's portfolio students, a practical experience related to the portfolio program may be required in place of the paper/presentation. The Gerontology Portfolio Program may be of particular interest to graduate nursing students as well as Women’s and Gender Studies, Disability Studies or any of the other graduate school portfolio programs.
