Graduate nursing programs prepare students for advanced practice, research, and leadership roles and promote the development of expertise in select areas of nursing.
AE Programs
AE-MSN, AE-PhD, and AE-DNP programs are designed for people holding baccalaureate or graduate degrees in disciplines other than nursing and who are interested in pursuing their RN License, and MSN, PhD, or DNP.
MSN LeaDs Program
MSN program is designed to provide the opportunity for advanced study in select areas of nursing science, professional foundations, related sciences, and modes of systematic inquiry related to advanced and specialized professional nursing practice.
PhD Program
Doctoral program prepares students to become researchers and to assume advanced leadership roles in nursing and health care delivery. Each student selects a focus area based on their nursing background, interests, and goals.
DNP Programs
The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program was established to address the growing need for BSN- and MSN-prepared practitioners capable of delivering advanced clinical care and leading at the highest levels of healthcare. It also responds to the demand for highly qualified clinical faculty in schools of nursing.
Certificate Programs
Teaching Nursing
The Certificate in Teaching Nursing is designed for nurses who are seeking to enhance their teaching pedagogy/skills and also for those who are seeking an academic career in teaching nursing.
Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
The acute care pediatric nurse practitioner (AC PNP) post master’s certificate is a 24-30 credit hour program that focuses on the knowledge and skills required to care for chronically and critically ill children.

Graduate Portfolio Programs are opportunities for all graduate students to obtain credentials in a cross-disciplinary academic area while they are completing the requirements for a master's or doctor's degree in a particular discipline.
Engaging Global Health in Costa Rica Program
The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing faculty lead this five-week program in Heredia, Costa Rica during the Summer II semester (mid-July to mid-August).
