Professor Momii is an Instructor in Clinical Nursing. She has been a faculty member at UT Austin School of Nursing since September 2009. She enjoys teaching a variety of lecture and clinical maternity courses for undergraduate, alternate entry foundation and graduate nursing students.
Ms. Momii graduated from the University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing with a BSN in 1975. She completed her MSN at the University of Texas Medical Branch School of Biomedical Science in Galveston, Texas in 1996. Her major was Nursing Administration with a minor in Nursing Education.
Her clinical practice during her career has included Maternity Nursing (Labor and Delivery, Post Partum, OB/GYN High Risk outpatient care), adult Nutrition Support Nursing and adult Central Line Team/PICC Team nursing care. She was certified as one of only 100 Certified Nutrition Support Nurses in the US. She is currently certified as an NCC Inpatient-Obstetric Nurse. As a nursing leader, she has held various inpatient roles including Charge Nurse, Head Nurse, Nurse Manager, Program Manager, Nurse Director and Hospital Administrator.
Ms. Momii is an active member of AWHONN, the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses. She served as the Austin Chapter Co-Chair and is a member to the Texas AWHONN Leadership team. She is currently the AWHONN Texas Section Legislative Representative and serves as the AWHONN representative to TNA legislative activities. She is also a member of Sigma Theta Tau International, the National League of Nursing, the Texas Women’s Healthcare Coalition, the Texas Team Central Texas Coalition and the International White Ribbon Alliance.
As a native Austinite, she is proud to be among 5 generations of Texas Longhorns. Four generations of her family have graduated from The University of Texas at Austin. She is a Life Member of the Texas Exes and enjoys UT football, basketball and baseball every year.
