Posted: Oct. 16, 2009
St. David’s Community Health Foundation has generously committed to donating $258,000 to the School of Nursing. A portion of the funds will be allocated to the Family Wellness Center to cover salaries for medical personnel, medical supplies, and general operating needs. The remainder of the funds will be directed towards the Children’s Wellness Center to cover staff salaries and help costs associated with its immunization program.
The Family Wellness Center offers high-quality, primary health-care services to low-income, uninsured people in the Austin area. The Children’s Wellness Center is a school-based health clinic created in partnership between the Del Valle Independent School District and The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing, in affiliation with People’s Community Clinic. The clinic is the only provider of pediatric health care services in the Del Valle area and provides care for low-income and medically underserved families and children.
St. David’s Community Health Foundation has been supporting the School of Nursing’s programs for 10 years, and the school is thankful to St David’s Community Health Foundation for their generous support.
