Meet Kavita Radhakrishnan, PhD, MSEE, RN, FAAN, Associate Professor at the UT Austin School of Nursing. Dr. Radhakrishnan’s research applies current and emerging technologies such as telemonitoring, connected sensors and digital gaming in order to resolve clinical nursing research problems such as heart failure self-management.

Meet Janice F. Hernandez, DNP, RN, FNP-C, Clinical Assistant Professor and Division Chair of The Holistic Adult Health Division at the UT Austin School of Nursing. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree at the UT Austin School of Nursing and aims to motivate and inspire nursing faculty and students while leading and implementing changes that will pave the way for the success of those she meets.

Meet Alexandra Garcia, PhD, RN, FAAN, Professor and Graduate Advisor for the UT Austin School of Nursing. “It is a privilege to work as a nurse and be a Graduate Advisor. These roles are very meaningful to me as I get to supervise our master's and doctoral students, who will make a difference in patients' lives, while teaching public health and conducting research which helps inform policymakers at organizational and governmental levels about how to improve health. Sharon Horner, PhD, RN, FAAN, Dolores V. Sands Chair; and John Lowe, PhD, RN, FAAN, Joseph Blades Centennial Professor in Nursing, at The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing, have been selected for induction into the Sigma Theta Tau International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame.

Terry A. Badger, PhD (1986), RN, PMHCNS-BC, FAPOS, FAAN, professor, was one of four recipients of a $4 million American Cancer Society grant to develop a “Cancer Health Equity Research Center.” The award’s goal is to improve health equity for Hispanic cancer survivors and family caregivers.
