The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing professors Teresa Bailey, DNP, APRN, NNP-BC, CNE, and Katie Sanders, DNP, RN, CNE, were recently awarded a Nursing Innovation Grant from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board that will support the growth of the Teaching in Nursing Post-Masters certificate program.

The grant team, including The University of Texas at Austin College of Education alumna Angela Bush Richards, PhD, MA, will expand the availability of these courses and mentorship to nurses interested in precepting students and entering into nursing faculty positions.

This program ultimately aims to increase the number of qualified nurse educators in the State of Texas and address nursing faculty shortages, particularly in outlying and underserved areas, where the shortage is greatest.
