Description: The GSC serves as the official faculty committee charged with:
- Reviewing and approving graduate curriculum changes, including new courses and revisions to existing courses.
- Establishing and monitoring academic standards for graduate education.
- Evaluating graduate program requirements and ensuring alignment with Graduate School policies and accreditation standards.
- Supporting admissions, student progression, program evaluation, and other matters affecting graduate nursing education.
- Facilitating faculty review and voting on graduate program initiatives through standing subcommittees, such as the Graduate Curriculum Committee.
Within the School of Nursing, the GSC includes faculty members with Graduate Studies Committee appointments from the UT Austin Graduate School who are authorized to supervise master's and doctoral students, serve on thesis and dissertation committees, and participate in graduate governance.
