The Texas Nurses Association (TNA) recognized Jacklyn “Jacki” Hecht, Julie Zuñiga and Veronica “Ronnie” Walker, all faculty members at The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing, among its 25 Outstanding Texas Nurses for 2026.

The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing joins health care organizations and communities across the country in celebrating National Nurses Week, observed May 6–12, 2026. The annual recognition honors the dedication, compassion, and leadership of nurses while highlighting the essential role the profession plays in advancing health care and improving lives.

The School of Nursing will host its official graduation ceremony on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. CT at Bass Concert Hall. The ceremony recognizes undergraduate and graduate nursing students graduating in Fall 2025 and Spring 2026.

The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing is proud to announce that Minyoung “Christine” Kim, an undergraduate nursing student, has been named a recipient of a highly competitive academic scholarship from the American Nurses Foundation (ANF), a national organization dedicated to advancing the nursing profession and strengthening the future nursing workforce.
