Alexsis Torres, senior program coordinator for clinical placements at The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing, received the SON Star Award for Texas Nursing staff in August 2025.

In July 2025, The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing hosted 14 visiting nursing scholars and faculty from Hungkuang University in Taiwan for a vibrant two-week educational and cultural exchange.

After training more than 8,000 professionals and students in life-saving CPR and Basic Life Support in the past eight years, The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing has officially been designated as an American Heart Association (AHA) Training Center.
