Presented by: Ronnie Stout DNP, MBA, MSN, BSN
Director, Center for Simulation
Clinical Associate Professor
The University of Texas at El Paso

Dr. Ronnie Stout received his Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas and his undergraduate Nursing Degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Stout has been the Director of the Center for Simulation at the University of Texas at El Paso since 2008. He has been involved with simulation since 1993 when he started an industrial simulation program.

During his tenure, his team has developed multiple innovative programs to assist the students to become true professionals in their career fields. Each program was designed to meet the needs of the three customers Ronnie always focuses on: the students, the faculty, and the community partners. A few of these programs include the Simulated Hospital Day, the Alternative Clinical Experience, and the Mine Shaft.

Ronnie’s interprofessional background has allowed his team to developed interprofessional collaborations with multiple schools on campus, in the community and across the state. The Simulated Hospital Day has broken down barriers to allow students to perform as professionals in today’s healthcare environment treating the patients in a holistic team approach.
