Carol Dawson-Rose, RN, PhD, FAAN serves as the dean and Styles Professor of Nursing and the Associate Vice Chancellor for Nursing Affairs at the University of California, San Francisco. She currently holds the James P. and Marjorie A. Livingston Chair in Nursing Excellence and is a member of the UCSF AIDS Research Institute executive committee and the internal advisory board for the Center for AIDS Research at UCSF. Dean Dawson-Rose started her career during the U.S. domestic AIDS epidemic. Her program of research prioritizes the experience of People Living with HIV (PLHIV) and the co-morbidities they often contend with, primarily substance use, mental health, adversity, and stigma. Dr. Dawson-Rose translates the experience of PLWH into interventions that have been implemented in clinics, community-based organizations, and global health settings.
