Biography and Research Area: Dr. Hyeun Ah Kang is an Assistant Professor in the Health Outcomes Division at The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy. She earned her Ph.D. in Health Outcomes from The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy (2019).
Dr. Kang's research focuses on evaluating the impacts of health policies on health outcomes, healthcare resource utilization, costs, and identifying predictors of clinical and economic outcomes through the analysis of large real-world databases, including health insurance claims data, nationwide survey data, and cancer registry. Her current areas of interest include health inequity, sickle cell disease, opioid use, and cancer disparities. She received several merit awards, including the 2023-2024 Provost Mentored Faculty Scholars Program – Mentee Cohort at UT Austin, the 2021-2022 American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) New Investigator Award, and Best Student Poster Research Presentation at the 2018 and 2019 International Society of Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) Annual International Meetings.
