Dr. Erika Litvin Bloom, Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine, Alpert Medical School of Brown University, Providence, RI, will discuss the theoretical basis of work with Quitbet, mobile apps for substance use disorders (SUDs), prominent apps for smoking or SUDs, and share reflections from working within the industry.
Dr. Bloom received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology in 2011 from the University of South Florida. She completed her pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University and joined the faculty in 2013. Her research has focused primarily on development and evaluation of treatments for tobacco and other substance use disorders. She also has broad interests in increasing effectiveness, access to, and uptake of substance use treatment; weight management; digital health and health care technology; and health behavior change theory and processes. She is currently Adjunct faculty at Brown and Lead Scientist at WayBetter, where she is applying her behavioral science expertise toward developing and evaluating digital health behavior change games.
