Biography

Angela P. Clark, PhD, RN, ACNS-BC, FAAN, FAHA, is an Associate Professor Emerita, and a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Cardiopulmonary and Diabetes Care. She is a past President of the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists (NACNS) (2005-2006) and a past President of the American Heart Association, Capitol Area Division, Texas (first non-physician). Dr. Clark was elected into the American Academy of Nursing in 1992 and is a founding member of the Acute and Critical Care Expert Panel. She is an elected Fellow in the American Heart Association, Council on Cardiovascular Nursing and was an invited member for the Committee to develop the Scope and Standards for Cardiovascular Nursing (convened by the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, and the American Nurses Association). She served as one of 3 editors of the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) national guidelines on family presence during resuscitation and invasive procedures. She conducted several funded studies for people living with chronic heart failure.
