Biography

Dr. Guillet is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at The University of Texas at Austin, School of Nursing. Her professional interest is focused in community health programs, and she is working with underserved Latino populations to promote health, disease prevention and health education.

Prior to her academic career, Dr. Guillet obtained her medical degree in Nicaragua where she worked as a physician in general medicine and surgery for the Ministry of Health and later in the nonprofit sector as the medical director for community health programs with community health workers. Dr. Guillet attended UT Austin and obtained a master’s in Nursing in the Public Health concentration with a minor in Non-Profit Studies from the LBJ School of Public Affairs.

She currently teaches public health nursing and Spanish for healthcare professionals in the School of Nursing and at the College of Pharmacy at UT. Dr. Guillet has also taught Spanish for the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at The University of Texas.

Dr. Guillet has collaborated in the intervention phase of research studies that focus on Latino Health in Central Texas.
