The UT Austin School of Nursing congratulates two of its faculty members for grants they were awarded in August. Dr. Li-Chen Lin and Dr. Amanda Alvarado both received grants for projects they are working on for the state of Texas.

The UT-Austin School of Nursing is pleased to announce that Associate Professor Jung Kwak, PhD, MSW, FGSA, was awarded seed funding from Texas Global for her project, “What Matters to Persons Living with Dementia: A Japan-U.S. Cross-Cultural Comparison of Self-Agency and Relationship Quality.”

Dr. Eduardo Chávez and Dr. Amber N. Sherman, Clinical Assistant Professors at The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing, were invited to participate in the Faculty Development and Leadership in Palliative Care Workshop, held July 16–17, 2026, at the University of Portland in Portland, Oregon.
