The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing faculty Carolyn Phillips, PhD, RN, AOCNP, and Whitney Thurman, PhD, RN, and their community partner Emily Seales, LCSW-S, received a grant through the UT Austin Steve Hicks School of Social Work’s Moritz Center for Societal Impact’s Good Neighbors Program. Their program is titled “Storytelling Through Music: A Novel Approach to Improve Well-being Among Homeless Service Providers.”
The Good Neighbors Program grants provide up to $10,000 for designing and implementing programs informed by therapeutic interventions, the arts and humanities, technology, social, recreational or other activities. All programs should focus on the needs of the community participants and embrace community-driven solutions.
