The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing is proud to announce that Dean Eun-Ok Im, PhD, MPH, RN, CNS, FAAN, has been elected as president/chairperson of the World Academy of Nursing Science (WANS), effective January 1.
WANS is an international organization that brings together academic nursing bodies from around the world to advance nursing research, science and education. Its membership includes over 25 national and international nursing organizations, such as the American Academy of Nursing, Council for the Advancement of Nursing Science and Sigma Theta Tau International, which collaborate on global research initiatives, knowledge sharing and biennial scientific congresses aimed at improving health worldwide.
In this role, Dean Im will provide leadership to support WANS’s mission of addressing global health challenges and generating evidence to inform better care and policy. Her election reflects her longstanding commitment to advancing nursing science, fostering international collaboration and promoting nursing research.
Dean Im’s appointment further underscores the School of Nursing’s growing global presence and leadership in shaping the future of nursing research and education.
