The University of Texas at Austin Medical Reserve Corps hosted a Disaster Preparedness Day event at the School of Nursing on Jan. 31, 2024, in collaboration with Williamson County Medical Reserve Corps, Austin Public Health, The University of Texas at Austin Police Department, The University of Texas at Austin Fire Safety, and Environmental Services.

During the event, faculty, staff and students learned more about how to prepare for various emergency scenarios.

UTMRC organizes and maintains a group of volunteers (faculty, staff, students, and community leaders) who are willing and prepared to assist in public health issues and emergencies on and around campus. The unit bolsters existing emergency response teams and public health advocates on campus.
