Meet Tenzin Dickyi, MSN ’23, RN, who serves as a clinical teaching assistant for The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing and Clinical Nurse Coordinator for a high-volume emergency department at an Austin hospital.
As a CTA, she assists Texas Nursing faculty with providing hands-on clinical instruction to nursing students. Tenzin is dedicated to mentoring students in applying theoretical knowledge to real-world patient care. She prioritizes helping nursing students and newly licensed nurses put their skills into practice.
“Fostering support and confidence is most important for helping them understand what they know and how to apply it to provide safe, quality care for their patients,” she said.
From her nominations:
“Tenzin fosters an environment, alongside my professor, to not be scared to ask questions. Rather than just telling us what to do, she implements critical thinking on what we should do. She has been modeling what a nurse should look like in the clinical setting as well as giving feedback that has really helped me become more comfortable in clinicals.”
We honor Tenzin during National Nurses Week for empowering future nurses with the confidence to provide exceptional care.
