The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing is further strengthening its position as a global nursing leader through international relationships.
UT Austin has formalized agreements with five universities in Taiwan that have colleges of nursing:
- Kaohsiung Medical University
- National Cheng Kung University
- China Medical University
- Hungkuang University
- Chang Gung University
These efforts were commemorated in November 2024 when leaders from UT Austin School of Nursing visited the leaders of the respective universities and colleges of nursing to build upon the established agreements.
“Our relationships with these universities and their nursing programs provide excellent opportunities for mutually beneficial collaboration and expansion of our international reach,” said School of Nursing Dean Eun-Ok Im. “More than 200 UT Austin alumni are healthcare leaders in Taiwan, including at these universities. They truly are shining examples that What Starts Here Changes the World.”
Under the agreements, the five universities in Taiwan will develop academic exchanges and cooperation programs in education and research with Texas Nursing.
“We look forward to further enhancing our School’s presence internationally,” said Julie Zuñiga, interim director of the School of Nursing’s Center for Global Nursing and Health. “Global engagement through sharing research, educational advancements and contributions to the nursing profession is critical to our continued growth and success.”
Texas Global leads the University’s international agreements and is working with the School of Nursing to broaden the scope of activities and the School of Nursing’s global position.
