Amanda Marshall receives December 2024 SON Star Award

Amanda Marshall, senior program coordinator for the Simulation & Skills Center (SSC) at The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing, received the SON Star Award for Texas Nursing staff in December 2024.

This award is granted to a UT Austin School of Nursing staff member who demonstrates a commitment to the goals and values of the University and the School.

Recognized for her outstanding contributions, Marshall joined the School of Nursing in May 2023 and plays a pivotal role in the SSC. She coordinates the day-to-day operations and educational activities for the SSC. She recruits, trains and supervises student workers and volunteers for the SSC. She supports faculty with simulation and skills course activities while also supporting departmental initiatives, such as the SSC Summer Volunteer Program. She actively participates in professional development, through conference presentations, and community programming and outreach.
