As we celebrate National Nurse Practitioners (NP) Week, The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing honors the contributions of NPs who lead change in health care.

At the UT Austin School of Nursing, our NP programs—Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (AC PNP), Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PC PNP) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)—prepare students with a rigorous education and hands-on clinical training to excel in patient-centered care.

Our alumni, who work across Texas and beyond, exemplify the School of Nursing’s mission to advance health care for all. From urban hospitals to rural clinics, our NPs are on the front lines, improving health care access and outcomes in their communities. The School is proud to support students and alumni as they continue to address the growing need for health care providers.

The School of Nursing extends its gratitude to the NP directors who guide these programs with dedication and to the NPs who operate the School’s Family Wellness Center and the Children’s Wellness Center. Their leadership, compassion and expertise have an immeasurable impact on students and the community.

Thank you to all NPs for your commitment, especially those within the School of Nursing community, for the essential role you play in creating healthier lives. Happy National Nurse Practitioners Week!
