Dean's Message
Dear Colleagues,
It has been a very busy and hot summer for all of us at the University of Texas at Austin, and I’m happy to share some exciting news and accomplishments of our outstanding faculty and students. The School of Nursing attracts exceptional faculty known for innovation in research and education, and it is clear to me that our students are well on their way to becoming the leaders that nursing needs.
This is the last E-News during my term as Dean. I will conclude 14 years serving as dean of the School of Nursing on Aug. 31, 2023, and I am very much looking forward to a one-year sabbatical before returning to the faculty in Fall 2024. It has been a privilege to serve as the leader of such an amazing group of students, staff, faculty and alumni, and I am confident that the School is in good hands with our new Dean, Dr. Eun-Ok Im, who will be joining us “officially” on Sept. 1, 2023. We look forward to introducing you to Dean Im in future E-News and in our next issue of Longhorn Nursing.
