School of Nursing Faculty Recognized for Research Excellence at SNRS Conference

Two faculty members from The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing were recently honored for their outstanding contributions to nursing research at the Southern Nursing Research Society (SNRS) 39th Annual Conference, Feb. 19-21 in Memphis, Tennessee.

Kelly Pretorius, PhD, MPH, MSN, APRN, CPNP-A/C & P/C, RN, clinical assistant professor, received the Early Science Investigator Award, which recognizes emerging nursing scholars who demonstrate exceptional promise in their research endeavors. Pretorius’s work focuses on advancing pediatric and adolescent health, with a particular emphasis on leveraging technology to improve patient outcomes. Her innovative approach has already made a significant impact, and this award highlights her growing influence in the field.

Kavita Radhakrishnan, PhD, MSEE, RN, FAAN, FAHA, associate dean for research, was awarded the Mid-Career Researcher Award, an honor given to established nursing researchers who have made substantial contributions to science and continue to drive meaningful advancements in health care. Radhakrishnan’s research centers on digital health interventions and self-management strategies for patients with chronic conditions. Her work has helped bridge the gap between technology and patient-centered care, enhancing accessibility and effectiveness in nursing practice.
