The purpose of the Nursing Continuing Professional Development (NCPD) department is to foster lifelong learning that enhances competence in professional practice and self-growth, allowing nurses to function more effectively in their professional roles and to contribute to the health and welfare of the public by the dissemination of knowledge. The NCPD department strives to facilitate interprofessional exploration of new ideas, trends and developments, coupled with exposure to new research-based educational activities critical for the development and maintenance of professional nursing practice.

Whether you are UT Austin School of Nursing's faculty and staff or a community partners and external organizations who wish to provide nursing continuing professional development accreditation for a conference or educational event, the Center for NCPD is here to provide consultations. We do give priority to departments inside of the UT system, non-profits, and organizations whose mission and vision align with ours.

Please submit the CNE Applicant Eligibility Verification Form listed below before you begin planning your event to see how we can partner with you and add quality and value to your educational activity by accrediting your content to provide nursing continuing professional development credits. We cannot provide continuing professional development accreditation to anyone who is considered a commercial interest organization according to the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Content Integrity Standards.
