On Saturday, December 2nd, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. (CST), the School of Nursing will host a ceremony at the Bass Concert Hall in honor of the graduating Class of 2023. The School of Nursing community is excited to honor your achievements and celebrate this moment with your friends and family.

This virtual session will allow prospective freshman talk directly with our School of Nursing Peer Mentors to address questions about student life and the realities of being a current nursing student at UT Austin.

American Heart Association (AHA) Heartsaver First-Aid is a video based and instructor-led course that teaches nursing students critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrive. Skills covered in this course include first aid skills, infection control, assessing emergencies, using epinephrine pens and inhalers. This course will aid you in promptly recognizing and managing life-threatening emergencies.​ experience.

American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider (CPR) is an instructor/lecture led, video-based course that teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both prehospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on High-Quality CPR for all ages, how to use an AED, and choking relief in adults and infants. 100% classroom training means students are with an AHA instructor for their entire learning experience.

American Heart Association (AHA) Heartsaver First-Aid and AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider is an instructor-led and video-based course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage a life-threatening emergency. Skills covered in this course include BLS CPR and the use of an AED for adult, child and infant; choking relief in adults and infants; and to promptly recognize a First Aid emergency. The course teaches In Facility Provider (IFP) skills and allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide the students’ learning throughout the course.

External transfer applicants are prospective students who have already started their studies at another college or university and desire to apply to UT Austin.
