The School of Nursing will host its official graduation ceremony on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. CT at Bass Concert Hall. The ceremony recognizes undergraduate and graduate nursing students graduating in Fall 2025 and Spring 2026.

American Heart Association (AHA) Heartsaver First-Aid is an instructor-led course that teaches nursing students critical skills needed to respond to and manage a basic first aid emergency until the arrival of emergency medical services. Skills covered in this course include first aid skills, infection control, assessing emergencies, using epinephrine pens and inhalers. This course will aid you in promptly recognizing and managing life-threatening emergencies.

American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certification is an instructor led course that teaches both single and multi-rescuer BLS skills for adults, children, and infants, how to use an AED/BMV, and choking relief in adults/infants for application in either pre-hospital or in-facility environments, 100% classroom training means students are with an AHA instructor for their entire learning experience. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a course completion eCard, valid for two years.

AHA BLS Provider and Heartsaver First Aid (Dual Certificates) is an AHA BLS Instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage a life-threatening emergency. Skills covered in this course include Basic Life Support (BLS), use of a pocket mask, bag mask device, AED for adults, child and infant; choking relief in adults and infants; and to promptly recognize a First Aid emergency. The course teaches In Facility Provider (IFP) skills and allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide the students’ learning throughout the course.
