American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider (CPR)

American Heart Association (AHA) Heartsaver First-Aid and AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider is an instructor-led and video-based course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage a life-threatening emergency. Skills covered in this course include BLS CPR and the use of an AED for adult, child and infant; choking relief in adults and infants; and to promptly recognize a First Aid emergency. The course teaches In Facility Provider (IFP) skills and allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide the students’ learning throughout the course.

BeVOCAL is offering an interactive, tailored workshops to train faculty & staff on the resources and responsibilities to effectively manage a crisis by applying a whole community approach. External transfer applicants are prospective students who have already started their studies at another college or university and desire to apply to UT Austin.

This virtual session will allow prospective freshman talk directly with our School of Nursing Peer Mentors to address questions about student life and the realities of being a current nursing student at UT Austin.

The Johnson-Turpin Center for Gerontological Nursing will host its monthly meeting for scholars and faculty focused on research, practice and policy in older adults. We will host a student panel discussion on AI tools and navigation and publicly available datasets on aging. Resources and tips will be shared for access and analysis. Internal transfer applicants are current UT Austin undergraduate in a non-nursing major who applies to transfer into the School of Nursing in order to pursue the BSN degree.
