When The University of Texas Longhorn Band takes the field, the energy is electric. But behind the cheers, the music and the iconic Big “UT” formations, two Alternate Entry Master of Science in Nursing (AEMSN) students from the UT Austin School of Nursing ensure that every band member stays safe and healthy.

This summer, students from The University of Texas at Austin participated in the Engaging in Global Health: Costa Rica education abroad program, an immersive experience that combined health promotion, cultural learning and community engagement. Open to all undergraduate students at UT Austin, this program gives students from a variety of disciplines the chance to explore the connections between health, culture and community.

From the beginning of her nursing journey, BSN and Honors student Gracemarie Jenson has embraced every opportunity to grow as a future nurse leader. Her journey reflects the depth of experience and commitment The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing fosters in its students—both in and out of the classroom.
