AHA Heartsaver First-Aid Certification

Due to the recent events and campus restrictions, we are modifying our BLS and First Aid classes to reflect the recommendations of the American Heart Association (AHA) and community policy. The classes will be set up to reflect these changes and shortened for our health & safety. These restrictions include:

  • Limit class to groups of 10 or less
  • Avoid Close Contact (6ft)
  • Wash hands and cover sneezes/coughs – use hand sanitizer regularly
  • Adhere to AHA Covid19 classroom recommendations – No pocket masks and 1-1 checks.
  • If you are sick – don’t come to class

American Heart Association (AHA) Heartsaver First-Aid is a video based and instructor-led course that teaches nursing students critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrive. Skills covered in this course include first aid skills, infection control, assessing emergencies, using epinephrine pens and inhalers. This course will aid you in promptly recognizing and managing life-threatening emergencies.​
