Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (ACPNP)
The Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (ACPNP) program focuses on the knowledge and skills required to care for pediatric patients (birth to age 21) with acute, complex, chronic, and critical health conditions. The educational experiences are led by doctorally prepared nurses. Education includes skills labs, simulation experiences, and lectures given by experts in the field which are supplemented by the clinical rotations to provide a wholistic understanding of acute care pediatrics. The doctorally prepared advanced practice nurse will be ready to complete quality improvement projects within their acute care pediatric nurse practitioner role after graduation.
Applicants to the Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program must be graduates of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program. Two year full-time RN experience is required by the first day of enrollment.
