Terry Badger is the Eleanor Bauwens Endowed Chair and professor and chair of the Community and Systems Health Science Division at the University of Arizona College of Nursing. She also holds professorships in the Department of Psychiatry and the Enid and Mel Zuckerman College of Public Health. Additionally, she is an active member of the University of Arizona Cancer Center.

As the founder and chair of the research group Symptoms, Health, INnovation, and Equity, Badger is dedicated to addressing the needs of cancer survivors and their caregivers. Since earning her PhD, she has secured funding for more than 60 grants, with a total funding portfolio exceeding $30 million.

Currently, Badger serves as the principal investigator on three R01 grants, focusing on psychological distress and symptom management for cancer survivors and their caregivers during and after treatment. Her work places a strong emphasis on health equity, particularly for Latinx cancer survivors and their families. She has led efforts in translation, cultural adaptation and implementation of interventions such as Telephone Interpersonal Counseling and the Symptom Management and Survivorship Handbook for Spanish speakers.

In addition, Badger is the principal investigator of one of the four inaugural Cancer Health Equity Research Centers funded by the American Cancer Society. Her contributions to research and academia are extensive, with over 145 publications and more than 160 presentations. She has also played a pivotal role in mentorship, guiding over 40 doctoral students and 12 post-doctoral students throughout their academic and research careers.
